At AmplifiedNOW, we provide content marketing and digital marketing services for busy entrepreneurs who want to get more leads and elevate their authority. In other words, we love working with experts who don’t have time to do the dirty work themselves.

In this blog post, I want to talk a little bit about what it means to be growing your expert business. I also want to explain how video can help grow your expertise in a way that hardly anything can. Of course, video is one of the best tools to prove and market your expertise.

Let’s talk about how you can start growing your expert business built on sharing your expertise and specific areas where video can help.

Growing Your Expert Business Without Video May Take Longer

First off, you may be wondering: How do you get leads as an expert? If you look on LinkedIn or any job board, there’s never going to be a job posting that says ‘experts needed for workshops and speaking engagements at companies across the world’. However, that’s what you are. That’s what you’re growing – a business built on your expertise.

So how do companies evaluate your level of experience, authority, and stage presence without video? How do you grow your practice without video? I think you can. But it’s going to be a much slower process with one interaction at a time.

One option would be to speak for free, offer to facilitate something the first time for free, or offer to do something in exchange for getting some experience under your belt. Like I said, this is a much slower route to take. It’s actually not an either/or here because you could still do that and add video to what you’re already doing.

So every time you’re speaking for free somewhere, make sure you’re also talking on camera to people who can hear you. I’m not saying get your speech recorded because I don’t think many conferences do a great job of getting you highlighted as the speaker (aside from maybe a TEDTalk conference). That said, you could hire a videographer and have them take your speech at a conference and then pan to the audience.

Expert Videos Showcase Your Knowledge Directly To An Audience

Keep in mind, these expert videos are the other way that you can grow your business. You can use video to grow your practice by demonstrating your expertise to people who need it. Of course, this is outreach. But also, if people are starting to search for the expertise that you have, you want to come up because like it or not, if you don’t, someone else who may not be as good as you is going to get that business. So with video, you’re building your expertise and your practice simultaneously. As an expert, this is only something that happens with deliberate care.

Of course, there are all kinds of ways you can back into it. But you have to start deliberately and realize that creating videos doesn’t have to be a hassle. It’s one of the simplest and quickest ways to get your expert knowledge in front of the right people. Make sure that people know what you’re good at. Share your expertise so people know what you know and they know how they can hire you.

If you want to discuss how you can grow your business expertise with video, let’s book a discovery call. I’d love to talk with you about what your company needs in order to learn about how video can work with your company or anything else about content marketing that you might want to discuss.
