Kathleen Celmins is the CEO and co-founder of Amplified NOW, a marketing company that focuses on creating expert video content and the many ways it can be repurposed. She sat down with Lyn Smith, the Queen of Hearts expert behind her business, Hearts Entwined. She is a love, dating, and relationship coach who loves using video to reach her audience.
Lyn uses video to build a personal relationship with her clients when she can’t meet with them face to face. Her favorite way to deliver her message is live, but with the COVID-19 pandemic, she had to make a change. She is using more video than ever to reach viewers on YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, and her website.
It took some practice for Lyn to get comfortable on video, however. Without an audience to feed off Lyn has had to push herself out of her comfort zone and trust that her message will find the right audience as she repurposes her videos in many ways.
Here are some tips from Lyn and Kathleen about repurposing video content:
- When making a long video look for snippets that can be repurposed in one minute segments on Instagram, TikTok, or even LinkedIn. This will save you from having to recreate the same content in a shorter form.
- Make videos that answer frequently asked questions about your business. This will allow you to have a personal touch while also saving time.
- Don’t be fearful of technology. Even if you don’t think of yourself as a tech savvy person there is technology available that can help you make and repurpose your videos. Many of these can even be found for free or a one-time fee.
- Use trial and error to find what works for you. Don’t let your uncertainty or perfectionism get in the way of creating videos that can help propel your business forward.
