Videos are great for marketing, but videos help with sales as well depending on how you include them in your strategy. My sister sells educational resources for school libraries in the Northwest. She was looking at some online tools and found that if she put a link to a video in her email signature, people would start communicating with her.

She got a lot of responses from doing this. Some of them were personalized, but then some of them were just a link in her signature that says something like ‘Hey, I’d love to help you out.’ I realized this is one more way the video helps with the sales process.

My sister is a salesperson so most of her work is outbound. But even with doing outbound sales, calls, and emails, having that video aspect shows that she knows her audience and can help them solve the problems that they have right now.

That’s a really good example of one specific way that videos help with your sales process. But think about if you are a service provider or have a product you’re trying to sell. How can video help with sales in your business as well?

How Videos Help With Sales

Let’s start with your sales calls. Maybe there are a few objections that come up in every sales call. What if you have a bunch of videos around those and you called them FAQs? What if you were able to get someone to almost buy from you from a just video of yourself talking about what you sell?

That’s what videos can do. That’s what content does in general. But videos, especially when you have something to sell, can demonstrate what it might be like to work with you one-on-one or in a group coaching setting. People want to know how you present your topics and that you know what you’re talking about.

There’s a really easy way to show them that you know what you’re doing and that’s just by talking about the things you already know. It’s shooting from the hip and not being scripted or taking hours to prep what you’re going to say.

It’s the sort of thing where you get fired up when you’re talking about x, y, and z.

Videos Can Even Help You Sell Confidence to Yourself

Making videos can often reaffirm your own trust in your abilities and knowledge. As the expert video topics and information seem to come so easy to you, it will serve as a reminder that you do know what you’re talking about and deserve to be a trusted expert in your space.

Not that I think it’s a confidence problem, because most people who have businesses know that they solve specific problems in an elegant way. But showing is way better than telling.

Gain Trust with Video Content

Don’t ever ask people to trust you off the bat. Instead, show them what it’s like to work with you.

Show case studies, walk people through what someone who looks just like them has been able to achieve through working with you. Really outline the transformation. Talk about where they were before they met you and where they are now after you’ve worked together.

That idea can be translated into almost anything that you do. The awful before, the beautiful after, and the transformation process. You can talk about it at a high level. But make sure you don’t give away everything. You don’t want to give everything away for free. Keep a little bit of that. You know where that line is.

If you have an online course for example, don’t regurgitate the entire contents of your online course in a free section. Instead, talk about some of the problems that the course solves. If you ever worry that you’re getting too close to some paid content then back off a bit.

Realize that setting up videos will make you more articulate. It will help you convey the problems that you’ve solved better in a sales call. It also shows potential prospects and clients what it’s like to work with you. These are just some of the ways that videos help with sales of course.
